Earthquaker Devices Delay & Reverb Pedals
EarthQuaker Devices has been building unique, boutique and usable pedals out of their Ohio workshop since 2004.
These are pedals that have pushed the envelope of traditional categories, all while remaining incredibly usable. EarthQuaker pedals are the kind that open up entirely new sounds in your playing, moving themselves from interesting curiosities to pedalboard necessities after minutes of playing.

EarthQuaker Devices Afterneath V3 Reverb Pedal
Otherworldly Reverberator
The Afterneath sounds a lot like it looks–a wizard in a cave. You are the wizard, and the cave is your instrument’s signal. Once inside the cave, you feel the cave rocks move. You gasp, and it reverberates throughout the cave, and it appears as though the reverberations are in fact a swarm of short digital delays which can create wild and cavernous reverbs, or scattered, short, rhythmic delays with bizarre characteristics. Take a moment to consider your spell inventory before proceeding further.
Length – controls the decay and length of the reverb
Diffuse – adjusts the spread of the reverb
Dampen – The clockwise variation of this spell results in brighter tones, and counter-clockwise, you hear darker tones with a mellower top-end.
Reflect – alters the depth of the cave, and with it the regeneration of the reverb.
Drag – separates the individual digital delay lines
Mix – alters the alchemical balance between the input signal and the effect.
EarthQuaker Devices Astral Destiny Modulated Octave Reverb
An Octal Octave Reverbation Odyssey
The Astral Destiny is a compact and powerful modulated octave reverb pedal that features 8 reverb modes with 8 editable presets, assignable expression control, tails for natural reverb decay when the effect is bypassed and a super cool stretch feature that doubles the length of the reverb while adding an adjustable pitch bending effect
Reverb Modes
1. Abyss: Huge reverb with no octave effect
2. Shimmer: Adds an upper octave to the reverb tail
3. Sub: Adds a lower octave to the reverb tail
4. Sub Shimmer: Adds an upper and lower octave to the reverb tail
5. Astral: Adds an upper and lower octave combined with a regenerating tail
6. Ascend: Upward pitch bending
7. Descend: Downward pitch bending
8. Cosmos: Adds a regenerating fifth to the reverb tail
Presets
The Astral Destiny operates between two different modes: Live or Preset. It comes with 8 factory presets, 1 for each reverb mode, that can be edited or completely overwritten for your enjoyment. The settings for Length, Depth, Rate, Tone, Mix as well as EXP assignment and Stretch length can all be stored and recalled. Any of the Astral Destiny’s 8 reverb modes can be used as the basis for each of the 8 presets.
EarthQuaker Devices Avalanche Run V2 Stereo Reverb & Delay
Stereo Reverb & Delay with Tap Tempo
A dreamy sonic discovery device with up to 2 seconds of delay time and a lush stereo reverb, the Avalanche Run Stereo Reverb and Delay with Tap Tempo pedal was developed with one goal in mind: take the floating ambient tones of our Dispatch Master to the next level while keeping it user friendly and refined. We are using a high powered proprietary DSP platform to recreate all the characteristics of all our favorite delay and reverb machines while still retaining a simple, yet flexible workspace.
Time and Repeats
Time: This controls the delay time and goes from 0ms to just under 2000ms.
Repeats: Controls the regeneration of the delay, from zero repeats to near infinite.
Tone and Mix
Tone: Controls the tone for the delay line only. Roll off highs to the left, roll off lows to the right and get a flat response in the middle.
Mix: The is the volume control for the delay line. This blends in the wet with dry until 1 o’clock, 1 o’clock to 3 o’clock boosts the wet signal over the dry and 3 o’clock up brings down dry until it is fully wet when all the way up.
Expression Jack Assign Switch and Decay
Expression Jack Assign Switch: Use this switch to map the expression jack to one of the assigned controls.
Decay: Controls the decay length of the reverb, short decay counterclockwise, long cavernous decay clockwise.
Ratio Selector Switch and MixMix: This is the volume control for the reverb. Blends in the wet with dry until 1 O’clock, 1 O’clock to 3 O’clock boosts the wet signal over the dry and 3 O’clock up brings down dry until it is fully wet when all the way up. Ratio Selector Switch: Selects delay subdivisions when time is set by the ‘Tap’ switch. |
EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master V2 Digital Delay & Reverb
Digital Delay & Reverb
The Dispatch Master is one of our favorite devices and remains our top-seller to this day. Crystalline digital delays up to 1.5 seconds without nasty self-oscillation. Luscious reverbs that seem to last forever, like a collect call from the beyond. Ethereal ambient soundscapes drifting off into outer space like psychedelic shooting stars. Use the Dispatch Master to make anything from thick swatches of reverb and delay, to a quick slapback, or add a bit of room sound to a signal that’s a tad dry.
Reverb
Clockwise for more reverb, counterclockwise for less.
Repeats
Controls the regeneration of the delayed signal. Also acts as a enhancer for the reverb. In reverb mode this will control the thickness, decay, depth and overall nature of the reverb.
Mix
Adjusts the over all level of the effected signal.
Time
Sets the delay time, from 0ms to 1.5 seconds.
EarthQuaker Devices Ghost Echo V3 Vintage Voiced Reverb
Vintage Voiced Reverb
This creepy analog/digital spring reverb emulation machine boasts a terrifying 30ms – 150ms of pre-delay, controllable via the Attack knob, for everything from a quick rockabilly slapback to viscous pools of ectoplasmic reverberations. When playing staccato, you’ll hear the tortured trails of the reverb, resulting in more of a slapback or echo sound. Legato playing will reveal a massive ambient ‘depth’ that fattens up the sound – and look out, it’s right behind you!
Attack
Adjusts the length of the pre-delay, from 30ms at minimum to about 150ms at maximum. When the Dwell is set to self-oscillate, this will change the pitch of the oscillations.
Dwell
Adjusts the length of the decay. This will start to self-oscillate around 3 O’Clock, the pitch of the oscillations can be changed by turning the Attack control.
Depth
Mixes in the wet signal with the dry, unity is around noon and everything after is boosted.
EarthQuaker Devices Levitation Reverb Machine
Reverberation Machine
Designed in conjunction with the Levitation music festival as a variation on our popular Ghost Echo pedal to remain true to Levitation’s psychedelic themes. The Levitation Reverb builds on the base sound found in the Ghost Echo but does away with the attack and dwell and adds control over tone, decay, atmosphere and length in their place. It is a vintage voiced reverb that aims to fit somewhere between dirty sixties chambers, classic spring, and the big, ringing plate reverbs of days gone by.
Mix
This controls how much wet signal is blended in with the dry. More reverb clockwise, less counter clockwise.
Decay
Controls the length of the reverb decay. Longer clockwise, shorter counter clockwise.
Tone
This is an input bandwidth control for the reverberated signal. All the way counter clockwise reduces all low end content to make a brighter reverb, turning counter clockwise allows more low end to pass through resulting in a fuller reverberated tone.
Atmosphere
This is a harmonic regeneration control, it feeds the upper frequencies of the reverb trails back through to create a more harmonic (ringing) reverb. More atmosphere clockwise, less counter clockwise.
EarthQuaker Devices Space Spiral V2 Modulated Delay
Modulated Delay Device
The Space Spiral is a dark and dreamy modulated delay designed to take you across the highways of fantasy. While the delay may be designed around a ‘dawn of digital’ echo processor, the sound is out of this world, man. If you are a fan of the dreary echoes produced by old oil can delays or the ethereal sound of a well-loved tape delay, the Space Spiral is totally going to tickle your tone bone. The Space Spiral’s delay time ranges from a tight 30 ms to a fast and loose 600 ms.
Time
Delay time goes from 30ms to 600ms; Clockwise for long and counterclockwise for short.
Repeats
Controls the regeneration of the delay signal. Repeats increase clockwise and gradually begin to build into self-oscillation around 3 o’clock. This oscillation will infinitely continue until the Repeats control is brought back down below the 3 o’clock threshold. These oscillations will last even when the pedal is in bypass mode.
Mix
Blends the delay signal in with the dry; Clockwise for more and counterclockwise for less.
