Luna Guitars have been making guitars and ukuleles since 2005. The company is run by, Yvonne de Villiers, a designer and stained-glass artist. These well crafted instruments display beautiful artistry and designs. Every ukulele has a story to tell.

 

Luna ukuleles come in many different styles. They make models for players on every level; children, beginners, or experts. Luna Guitars are made with attention to detail, for comfort and playability.

 Their concept is about creating art through instruments, by blending physical art with audio art. These ukuleles are stunning in appearance, and produce beautiful tones, when played. They have a well balanced, mellow sound, and can can be played, with or without an amp. 

This ukulele is etched with fish mirroring flowing leaves of kelp. It symbolizes fertility, eternity, creativity, happiness, fatherhood, fidelity and transformation. The spiral shape of the abalone shell symbolizes evolution and holistic growth. It represents the planets and geometry of natural growth, as seen throughout nature. The Luna Uke Coral is made of solid body mahogany, with a set neck construction, satin natural finish, a walnut fretboard, distinctive Luna Moon Phase pearl dot inlays, and an abalone fish inlay on the body.

The Great Wave of Kanagawa (1830-1833), also known as The Great Wave is a woodblock print, by the Japanese artist, Hokusai. Copies of the print can be seen in many collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and The British Museum in London. This famous work of art is also featured, on the front, of Luna’s 21″ Great Wave Soprano ukulele and  Luna’s 23″ Great Wave Concert ukulele. The Vista Series blends the world of fine art with the art of advanced instrument building. It features an aesthetic portrait of wildlife, through a display of various tropical woods. This ukulele is handmade with Padauk, Mother of Pearl, Blackwood, Spalted Maple, Teal Abalone, Quilted Mahogany, and Koa. It is hand-crafted, with a 15 scale, mahogany neck and pearl moon phase inlays, on a black walnut fretboard. The Vista Deer ukulele’s playability, and distinctive, acoustic sound are unique.
