PLASMA PEDAL
The PLASMA PEDAL is a revolutionary approach within the realm of overdrive and distortion, as it is a new and previously unexplored method of achieving signal clipping. Instead of using LED circuits, transistors or vacuum tubes to produce overdrive, the PLASMA PEDAL transforms your instruments live signal into a series of continuous high voltage discharges within a xenon filled tube. In essence you are playing a bolt of electricity, and the electrical discharges produced by the PLASMA Tube are instantly converted back into audio signal.
The harmonic artifacts, created as a byproduct of the high voltage discharge are uncommon in traditional signal amplification, and therefore PLASMA distortion is unlike anything you have heard before.
As soon as you stop playing the electrical discharge within the gas filled tube is interrupted, and the pedal will not produce any output signal at all. This feature allows you to achieve extreme contrasts between individual notes, by eliminating all of the in between noises created by the instruments pickups or by humming strings.
The BLEND knob sets the balance of the dry and wet signal mix. This allows to add the PLASMA distortion on top of the clean signal or even already dirty tone. The later results in a very rich and fat tone.
The PLASMA Pedal produces a very wide frequency spectrum with massive low end and sharp and screeching high end. The LOW and HIGH FREQ knobs control this by boosting and cutting the lows and highs. The EQ section can be applied to both dry and wet signal or wet signal alone, which paired with the BLEND knob is a very useful feature for the bass guitar.
PLASMA COIL
The PLASMA Coil is a version of the PLASMA Pedal designed together with Jack White and Third Man Records. It is a revolutionary way of producing distortion by converting your instruments signal into a series of high voltage plasma discharges in a sealed xenon filled tube. The result is an incredibly sharp and sizzling overdrive that is extremely clear, responsive, and most importantly fun. This patent-pending technology of high voltage electric discharge also acts as a natural noise gating device that creates strong contrasts between staccato notes, as well as eliminating all unwanted noise and pickup hum. The PLASMA Coils electric discharge tube produces beautiful visible bolts of lightning that react to the input signal, thus creating a captivating experience. In essence you are playing a bolt of electricity.
The Jack Whites version has gritty and glitchy octave up and down effects: Volume boost, 2 subharmonic modes (bitcrush style octave down), 1 upper harmonic mode (Octafuzz style octave Up) and 2 mixed modes (upper and lower harmonics combined). These effects are toggled with the pedals secondary footswitch which can operate both in latching and momentary modes. The PLASMA Coil converts your instruments signal into a rapid series of electric discharges, which results in a large amount of nonlinear harmonic saturation that causes extremely rich and responsive attacks, and brings out screeching sharp overtones and harmonics. These harmonic artefacts, produced as a byproduct of the high voltage discharge are uncommon in traditional signal amplification, and therefore PLASMA Coils distortion is unlike anything you have heard before. As soon as you stop playing the electrical discharge within the gas filled tube is interrupted, and the pedal will not produce any output signal at all. This feature allows you to achieve extreme contrasts between individual notes, by eliminating all of the inbetween noises created by the instruments pickups or by humming strings.
PLASMA EURORACK
The PLASMA Drive eurorack module is a collaboration between Gamechanger Audio and Erica Synths, an established and recognized modular synthesizer brand from Latvia. Erica Synths are a team of visionaries, engineers and musicians who create modules and instruments that are different in terms of sound, looks and functions.
The PLASMA Drive Eurorack boosts audio signal to 3000V and transforms it into a series of continuous high voltage discharges in a xenon filled tube. In essence you are playing a lightning bolt of electricity, and the electrical discharges produced by your instrument are instantly converted back into an analogue audio signal. The result is a quick, responsive, and extremely heavy distortion with tons of unique character.
The Module features octave up and two octave down tracking oscillators, thus adding even more harmonics to the original signal. Tracking oscillators can be switched on and off manually or via trigger signals.
The naturally occurring noise gate creates strong contrasts between staccato notes, as well as eliminating all unwanted noise. As soon as there is no input signal the electrical discharge within the gas filled tube is interrupted, and the module will not produce any output signal at all. This feature allows you to achieve extreme contrasts between individual notes.
The BLEND knob sets the balance of the dry and wet signal mix. This allows to add the PLASMA distortion on top of the clean. When playing around with sharply gated broken sound, the BLEND knob can be used to retain the decay of the sound.
The PLASMA Drive module produces a very wide frequency spectrum with massive low end and sharp and screeching high end. The TREBLE and BASS knobs control this by boosting and cutting the lows and highs. Cut the lows and highs and boost the volume for mid boosted sound, or boost the lows and highs for an impressive wall of sound. The EQ section can be applied to both dry and wet signal or wet signal alone
PLASMA RACK
The PLASMA RACK turns your instrument’s signal into a rapid series of electric discharges in a Xenon-filled tube. High voltage discharges then get picked up by a specially designed electromagnetic receiver and turned back into audio-level signal. This process results in punishingly heavy distortion saturation with a wide range of harmonics and overtones. The harmonic artifacts, created as a byproduct of the high voltage discharge are uncommon in traditional signal amplification, and therefore PLASMA distortion is unlike anything you have heard before. The PLASMA Rack produces large amount of non linear harmonic saturation that causes extremely rich and responsive attacks, and brings out screeching sharp overtones and harmonics.
The scope of distortion intensity goes from sputtery broken sounds to full saturation and sustain all the way to totally oversaturated tones. When input level drops below the PLASMA lamps voltage threshold the electrical discharge within the gas filled tube is interrupted. This creates a fast and sputtery gating effect which is unique to the PLASMA distortion and is a huge part of the flavor of this distortion. It creates strong contrasts between sounds so it works really well with beats and drum tracks. CLEAN GATE applies the special PLASMA gating to the dry signal even if the distorted wet signal is not mixed in. This allows to apply the same sputtering gate sounds as a texture without distorting the signal. The PLASMA RACK features a TREMOLO section that affects both the DRY and the WET signals in or out of phase. The tremolo is achieved by modulating the PLASMA tube and the tremolo speed goes into ring modulation territory. The effect also has an envelope follower which allows to control the tremolo and ring modulation depth with the input level. The PLASMA Rack has a balance and unbalanced I/O. It works with both instrument and line level signals. It is a mono unit, however it is designed to work in master/slave configuration for st
THE LIGHT PEDAL
The LIGHT Pedal is the world’s first analog optical spring reverb system that uses infra-red optical sensors. This system is used to harvest the full timbral and harmonic range of the spring reverb tank. The LIGHT Pedal combines the best features of a classic spring reverb with the innovative optical sensor system and a powerful effects section. This combination opens up countless new types of reverb textures and sounds never heard before. The LIGHT Pedal uses extremely sensitive optical sensors directed at different points of the spring.
The optical sensors detect very subtle movements on the spring’s surface as sound-waves travel through it. This method allows to pick up a much wider range of frequencies, overtones and textures otherwise lost in the mechanical reverberation process. The optical sensors also open doors to effects that are new to spring reverbs, such as tremolo, modulation, feedback and added harmonics. The result is a wide variety of reverb sounds ranging from classic to experimental to pure magic. The LIGHT Pedal’s user interface pushes the boundaries of spring reverb even further. The extended signal mix section allows for a very precise balance between the dry, classic reverb tone and the new and optical reverb signals. The ability to stack various effects and control them with playing dynamics or an expression pedal makes this pedal an advanced tool for sonic exploration. Powered by a standard 9V DC center negative power supply with at least 500 mA. Power supply is not included.
