Lemmy Kilmister was the founder, lead singer and bass player of one of the most, successful, influential and innovative Rock Bands in History, Motorhead.

Lemmy had a very unconventional style of playing bass. He had a very unique approach and utilized his bass to play rhythm guitar. He used a lot of distortion, which gave him a very distinct tone. Motorhead was a three-man band with a huge sound.

They formed in the late 70’s, and continued to play for 40 years. The lineup changed many times over the years, only Lemmy remained consistent as the band’s leader. The music of Motorhead was loud, fast and ground-breaking. Their classic lineup will always be Lemmy on bass and vocals, Fast Eddie Clark on guitar and Phil “Philthy” Animal on drums.

Their music influencesd almost every rock band and thrash metal and speed metal followed. Their legacy proves their greatness, for having performed more shows, made more albums, and used more drugs than any other band. Motorhead continued to perform live, until Lemmy passed away on December 28, 2015, days after his 70th birthday. They will always be highly regarded for all the music, and the many music genres they inspired. Lemmy always stated that they played Rock n Roll.
