Dave Navarro is the lead guitarist of Janes Addiction, and is known for his unique style of playing guitar. His sound is a blend of alternative, metal and psychadelic rock, inspired by Hendrix and Van Halen. What make Dave so unique is that he doesnt show off his skills through crazy solos and speed. Dave has mastered the art of creative expression through his music. His tone and style comes through in his memorable and soulful melodies. He focuses on the sounds he creates and how it complements each song. He has been a huge influence for many guitarists and in my opinion, he is one of the greatest.
He had a few brief appearances, playing with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Guns n Roses, Alanis Morrisette, a solo debut and his band The Panic Channel (to name a few.) He has had several tv appearances, including his role as host of Inkmaster, and roles on Sons of Anarchy and Law and Order. He has done a lot over the years, but is best known for his work with Janes Addiction. The original band reunited in 2008 at the NME Awards and received the “Godlike Genius Award”. They have broken up and reunited many times, with different bass players, but they received their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on October 30, 2013. Their original sound and style made them innovators of alternative music. The combination of Dave’s mesmerizing melodies and his distinct tone, Stephen Perkin’s amazing drumminng style, Eric Avery’s iconic bass riffs, and Perry Farrell’s incredible vocals, created the classic, unique sound of Janes Addiction.

Dave Navarro racked up four platinum records and three Grammy nominations as the guitarist of Jane’s Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. His 2003 marriage to Carmen Electra was captured in MTV’s popular reality series, ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen and Dave.
